# Meriden Archery Club

Meriden Archery Club is an established archery facility located within the Packington Estate near Coventry, serving archers of all disciplines and experience levels. Founded in 1936, the club operates as an Archery GB affiliated organisation, ensuring all shooting adheres to official standards and safety protocols.

The club caters to recurve, compound, barebow, and longbow archers, welcoming both complete beginners and experienced competitors. Their membership base includes recreational shooters seeking regular practice and serious archers pursuing tournament participation and skill development.

What distinguishes Meriden is their comprehensive facilities infrastructure. Members benefit from exclusive access to multiple shooting grounds: a main field accommodating various metric and imperial distances, a dedicated indoor range with 18-metre targets (opened 2023), the Paddock with covered shooting areas and floodlit targets up to 50 metres, and a field course. This variety enables year-round shooting and specialised practice regardless of weather or experience level.

The club actively engages the broader community through structured programmes including regular beginners' courses during spring and summer, arranged taster sessions for prospective members, and five annual open tournaments attracting archers across Archery GB. Their clubhouse provides social facilities supporting the club community.

Additionally, Meriden demonstrates strong safeguarding commitment, implementing Archery GB's children and young people protection policies with dedicated junior provisions and a designated safeguarding officer.
