Eccles Archery Club is a dedicated archery facility based in Salford, affiliated with the Lancashire Archery Association, Northern Counties Archery Society and Archery GB. Located in Peel Green Road with 24/7 year-round access, the club serves novice archers through to competitive tournament competitors across all disciplines including recurve, compound and longbow.
The club distinguishes itself through exceptional facilities tailored to different experience levels. The newly opened Martin Speakman indoor range features a full 30-metre facility with movable bosses, bow setup and maintenance areas including a compound bow press and string-making jig. The Les Williamson training range, converted from original stables, provides a dedicated space for beginner instruction and coaching. The expansive outdoor field accommodates up to 17 bosses and supports long-distance clout shooting at 90m/100 yards and 180 yards/165 metres.
What sets Eccles apart is their comprehensive coaching programme—beginners must complete formal courses before advancing to general membership. The club actively hosts World Record Status tournaments, county matches and novice shoots, positioning it as a serious competitive venue.
