# Tynedale Archers
Tynedale Archers is a community-focused archery club based in Hexham, Northumberland, serving aspiring and experienced archers across the region. Founded in 2013, the club provides structured tuition and recreational shooting opportunities for members of all skill levels, from complete beginners to competitive archers.
The club operates year-round with seasonal venues: outdoor shooting at St Joseph's RC Middle School during warmer months (April-October) on Sunday mornings and Tuesday/Thursday evenings, and indoor facilities at Queen Elizabeth High School for winter Saturday sessions. This flexibility allows members to pursue archery regardless of the season.
What sets Tynedale Archers apart is their beginner-centric approach and professional coaching structure. The club employs three qualified Archery GB coaches who guide newcomers through comprehensive beginner courses held twice yearly. Crucially, new members require no personal equipment—the club provides everything needed to complete their initial training, removing barriers to entry. This accessibility has fostered a genuinely inclusive, family-oriented atmosphere.
The club caters to diverse archer types: those pursuing competitive achievement, recreational hobbyists, and everyone between. Members shoot various styles including barebow, recurve, and longbows. Beyond formal instruction, Tynedale Archers maintains an active social community, organising challenges and competitions whilst maintaining the welcoming environment that defines the club's character.
