# Leek Archery Club
Leek Archery Club is an inclusive archery facility based in Leek, Staffordshire, offering comprehensive instruction and community shooting opportunities for archers of all abilities. The club welcomes complete beginners through to experienced competitive archers, providing structured courses and ongoing membership support.
The club operates two distinct facilities to accommodate year-round shooting. Shoobridge Street Mill provides a 24/7 indoor 18-metre range with four fixed shooting boxes, ideal for winter training and beginner courses regardless of weather. During warmer months, members utilise Leek Hockey Club's outdoor range, which operates three evenings weekly (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 5:30pm) plus Saturday afternoons (1-3pm).
What distinguishes Leek Archery Club is its practical, member-led approach to development. New members shoot supervised by experienced key-holding members during their first year until demonstrating competency in safety protocols. The club actively supports exploration of diverse bow types—from traditional longbows to modern compound and recurve equipment—with knowledgeable members available to guide progression.
The club emphasises accessible community archery rather than elite competition alone, though competitive pathways exist for interested members. Regular beginner courses (scheduled seasonally at each venue) provide structured entry points, whilst ongoing club nights foster camaraderie amongst archers at comparable skill levels. Safety, inclusivity and practical skill-building form the club's core ethos.
