# Epping Archers
Epping Archers is an established archery club based in North Weald, Essex, serving the Epping and Harlow communities since 1973. The club operates both indoor and outdoor shooting facilities, catering to adults and young people who want to develop their archery skills in a structured, safe environment.
The club runs separate programmes for seniors (18+) and juniors, with indoor sessions held year-round at the Abercrombie Centre in Harlow on Monday evenings. Seniors shoot from 8:15 pm to 10:15 pm, whilst juniors train from 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm under qualified club coaches. During summer months, the club utilises its outdoor range on North Weald airfield for competitive shooting and Sunday morning competitions, with year-round access available for recreational shooting on suitable days.
What distinguishes Epping Archers is its commitment to quality and safeguarding. The club achieved archery-specific Club Mark status in 2007—becoming only the 4th archery club nationally to do so—demonstrating compliance with Sport England's rigorous standards for junior participation, child protection, equity, and club management. Although no longer holding active Club Mark accreditation due to external circumstances, the club continues adhering to these principles.
As an Archery GB affiliate, Epping Archers maintains strict compliance with national governing body policies covering safeguarding, health and safety, equality, disciplinary procedures, and codes of conduct. The club welcomes beginners through regular structured courses, offering a welcoming entry point for newcomers alongside competitive opportunities for experienced archers.
