# RJD Archers

RJD Archers is a welcoming family-run archery club based in Pontypridd, serving the local community with qualified instruction for beginners through to advancing archers. The club accepts children from age 8 upwards and adults of all ages, creating an inclusive environment where newcomers can develop fundamental skills before progressing to competitive or recreational levels.

What sets RJD Archers apart is their practical approach to equipment. Rather than requiring immediate investment, beginners borrow club equipment to explore the sport risk-free. Once committed to continuing, coaches provide personalised guidance to help members select appropriate gear matched to their individual needs and aspirations. This support removes barriers to entry and ensures members invest wisely as they progress.

The club benefits from a team of Archery GB-qualified coaches who are DAB checked, guaranteeing professional, safe instruction with individual attention. Notably, Welsh-language coaching is available for members preferring to learn in their native language, reflecting the club's commitment to accessibility within the local Welsh-speaking community.

RJD Archers operates a seasonal schedule, utilising outdoor facilities at The Old Dog Track in Rhydyfelin during summer months (May to mid-September), then moving to the indoor facilities at Llantrisant Leisure Centre for winter training (mid-September to May). This dual-venue approach ensures year-round availability regardless of weather conditions. Sessions run Tuesday and Friday evenings from 18:00-20:00, accommodating working members and families.
